Privacy Policy

Plastic Card Services® takes your privacy seriously.  This privacy policy describes what personal information we collect and how we use it.

Cookies

Where necessary, Plastic Card Services® uses cookies to store information about a visitor’s preferences and history in order to better serve the visitor and/or present the visitor with customised content.

A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we store on your browser or the hard drive of your computer if you agree. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive.

Advertising partners and other third parties also use cookies, scripts and/or web beacons to track visitors to our site in order to display advertisements and other useful information.  Such tracking is done directly by the third parties through their own servers and is subject to their own privacy policies.

We use the following cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies. These are cookies that are required for the operation of our website. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log into secure areas of our website, use a shopping cart or make use of e-billing services.
  • Analytical/performance cookies. They allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around our website when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.
  • Functionality cookies. These are used to recognise you when you return to our website. This enables us to personalise our content for you, greet you by name and remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region).
  • Targeting cookies. These cookies record your visit to our website, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed. We will use this information to make our website and the advertising displayed on it more relevant to your interests. These cookies use data collection in order to personalise Ads to you.

Routine Information Collection

All web servers track basic information about their visitors.  This information includes, but is not limited to, IP addresses, browser details, timestamps and referring pages.  None of this information can personally identify specific visitors to this site.  The information is tracked for routine administration and maintenance purposes.

This website uses Google AdWords remarketing service to advertise on third party websites (including Google) to previous visitors to our site. It could mean that we advertise to previous visitors who haven’t completed a task on our site, for example using the contact form to make an enquiry. This could be in the form of an advertisement on the Google search results page, or a site in the Google Display network. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on someone’s past visits to the Plastic Card Services® website. Of course, any data collected will be used in accordance with our own privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.

We may use Google Analytics for the following purposes where data will be retained for 50 months before being automatically deleted by Google:

Remarketing (showing our ads on third party websites). Plastic Card Services® and third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to inform, optimise and serve ads based on someone’s past visits to our website. Google Display Network Impression Reporting. Plastic Card Services® and third-party vendors, use cookies to report how our ad impressions, other uses of ad services and interactions with these ad impressions and ad services are related to visits to our site. Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting. Plastic Card Services® use data from Google’s Interest-based advertising or 3rd-party audience data (such as age, gender and interests) with Google Analytics to inform our marketing strategy.

Use of personally identifiable information

Occasionally we would like to let you know about offers, ideas, products and services available from Plastic Card Services that we think you might be interested in. Where you have consented to us doing so, we may do this through the post, by email or phone.

We won’t send you marketing messages if you tell us not to, but we will still need to send you occasional service-related messages. If you wish to amend your marketing preferences, you can do so either by contacting your account manager, unsubscribing from our mailing list or emailing talk@plasticcardservices.co.uk.

Controlling Your Privacy

Note that you can change your browser settings to disable cookies if you have privacy concerns.  Disabling cookies for all sites is not recommended as it may interfere with your use of some sites. The best option is to disable or enable cookies on a per-site basis.

You can see how Google will use your personal data when you give consent by visiting Google’s Privacy and Terms site.

Visitors can opt out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customise Google Display Network ads using Google’s Ad Settings page.
